Update here.  I was able to boot this system via the RH rescue process.
  It seems that either RH formated the drives as ext3 when I told it to 
format them as ext2, or in my multiple attempts to install, I neglected 
to indicate my preference.  As it is, the are ext3, hence the reason trb 
could not mount them.  None the less, I was able to boot, chroot, and 
install the boot loader and successfully reboot.

Still work to be done though as X was never configured and it doesn't 
see a mouse (which was configured during install).  But I've got a 
working env.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
