[ale] Linux on Game Consoles

What's the current story on being able to run Linux on any of the currently-
available game consoles?  I recall Slashdot stories but searching on there or 
Google yields too many hits to be usable.  I ask because we may be getting a 
console soon and I wondered if I could mess around with Linux capability.
