Well, that's another "trick" coming into play. On a resync, the parity
block is recalculated, and compared to the extant parity block. If it
matches, no write is performed. So, on a resync, it can go much faster
than on the initial sync. I'd say the figure you're getting is the raw
read rate for the N drives involved.
