At the risk of sounding really callous, IMO he can either
send his email as proper line-length/terminated
ascii-plaintext or expect his message to be discarded.
MSWord is Especially Bad - most MUAs cannot decode it
anyway, and that is a Good Thing (helps keep out executable
content, for example).
