The _only_ president in history not elected to office? I think you need
to spend more time reading history than bashing the GOP...

In order...

John Tyler, succeeded William Henry Harrison who died from pneumonia,
1841-1845

Millard Filmore, succeeded Zachary Taylor who died from cholera,
1850-1853

Chester A. Arthur, succeeded James A Garfield who was assassinated by
Charles Guiteau, 1881-1885

Several other VPs succeeded their boss, however, these three shared the
same distinction as Ford by either not being re-elected or not running
for office when the term expired.

I have zero respect for a Commander in Chief who openly protested the US
military on foreign soil. Added to which, the issue of Monica Lewinski
was not one of who screwed who but of who obstructed justice, and who
compromised national security to get their willie wet. Monica aside,
Clinton's record of obstruction is long and well documented with _many_
suspicious deaths of people who held relevant information. Journalists,
bodyguards, staff members.. people just had a nasty habit of assuming
room temperature after having known Clinton and having inside access to
information that could have been damaging to his ability to thwart the
justice system.

Oh, and while I'm ripping apart your attempt at humor, it was Dan Quale
who said, and I quote,

"I was recently on a tour of Latin America, and the only regret I have
was that I didn't study Latin harder in school so I could converse with
those people."

You won't find me defending Danforth. However, I will say that "potatoe"
is an acceptable alternate spelling, as per the Oxford English
Dictionary.

Oh, by the way... here's a box of band-aids.<grin>
