[ale] turntable -> tuner -> soundcard

Hey guys, I brought this up once before, I'm back at it again, but still 
can't find the info I need.  I have about 800 LPs I'd like to (start) 
burning to cds.  I've been trying to figure out how to get my audio 
hardware connected to my sound card.  I can't find any info on this.  I 
don't want to blow my sound card either.

What I'm thinking I could do is connect the record rca connectors from 
my tuner/amp to the sound card in.  I've got a cable that y's the two 
rca's to the proper jack.

Question is, will my amp blow my sound card?  I can't find the specs on 
the amp as it's pretty old.  Anyone know if these audio levels are 
compatible?

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
