[ale] separate hd for swap?

Robert -

Yeah, you can use the 250MB drive for nothing but swap.  My concern 
would be if the 250MB drive is so much slower than your other drives 
that it would nullify any advantage to putting your swap partition on 
its own drive.  If you have a second 250MB drive, try making a swap 
partition there as well and setting them up in fstab with equalal 
priorities (see man fstab).  I've read that this works just as well as 
(if not better than) trying to use software RAID to make a stripe set 
out of two drives for swap.  I have a machine downstairs that has one 
1.7GB IDE drive, a 340MB IDE drive on the other controller, and a 120MB 
SCSI drive, and those last two drives are set up as swap.  

I haven't tried A/B measurements or anything, but I compiled a kernel 
using make -j (no param for the -j - a total machine-killer) on it and 
it was definitely grinding both its swap drives for hours!
