[ale] screen blanking help

Sounds like you're still running a screensaver somewhere.  Try ps
ax | egrep 'screen | lock'

Maybe you have xlock or xscreensaver running.  You could also
doublecheck your X config with 

xset -q | egrep -A 3 'DPMS|Screen Saver'

You could have peace of mind that your DPMS and your screen saver
values are actually off.
