[ale] new linux box

ok say i was gonna make a new linux box (probobly end
up doing it peice by peice....) what should i get for
linux compatability, power or speed, life time
dependability? ya know...?? whats good and whats not
hardware wise? i was thinking getting a dual processor
with ddr ram.. this is for home use but im looking to
get 2 things... 1 whats the best considering you cant
spend a fortune? 2 whats the best spending a fortune?
im sitting at a fork in the road and im not sure where
i wanna go... now also... how is a dual processor? is
it utilized with linux? win 98? is it worth having? is
a dual 1 ghz better than one 2ghz ? ... i know a bit
about A+ stuff i just slacked off on hardware and i
dont know whats worth it and whats not..... need input :)
