I am wondering if this may have been a hack...or maybe my hard drive is
going bad....
The only ports I have open on my machine are 25 for smtp and 80 for
http(Running Redhat 7.1 with the latest stuff from updates.redhat.com). If
it was a hack they did a pretty good job. One thing that was interesting
was that the last logon as root was from my router not locally. :(
This was the last log in my accesss_log from apache but there are no logs
around that time for sendmail(smtp)
65.116.145.15 - - [02/Jan/2002:04:02:21 -0500] "GET /robots.txt HTTP/1.1"
404 296 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 compatible ZyBorg/1.0 (ZyBorg at WISEnutbot.com;
http://www.WISEnutbot.com)"
I don't think this would have anything to do with it but.....
Here's part of my /var/log/messages file... It actually panicked 17 times
but I didn't want to send out too much information. If anyone has any ideas
on how I may be able to avoid this in the future, I would appreciated it....
Just for fyi, I have 512 meg of reasonably high quality memory, I have a 530
meg swap file and I am running raid1.... Another weird thing is that I can't
find a core dump from that time anywhere.....
