Have you tried wvdial in stupid mode? I did have some old info from
connecting an IRIX box via modem to Compuserve. I could dig that up if
necessary, I think. It may be gone though. Wvdial is pretty smart at
figuring out what the pppd on the other end is wanting. Worth a try at
least. Keep us posted on your efforts. I usually expect a login
prompt, then a password prompt, after this I expect a "~" since that is
always in a PPP packet. Works like a charm on mindspring dialups.
