I've been able to install Debian on those.  Make sure you have disk.

I only had 100Mb so I could only install the base package and then I had to
kill the install.

I have the option of purchasing (cheaply) a Sparc 5
workstation...either the 70 mhz or 170 mhz.

I've read of some problems installing linux on the
170.  Has anyone successfully done this?  I'd really
like to get that extra 100 mhz ;-).

Also, what are these equivalent to in the intel world?
 I have no experience with Sun boxes....
