/me is bored & still sick
I sometimes wonder of the viewing habits of other techs, coders, gamers,
geeks, hackers, & the ilk. We have a houseful of the above and I can't
remember when any of us had it tuned to one of the "old" broadcast
channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, or even PBS or FOX.) For instance, I had no
idea what the fuss was about "Survivor", could not point out a cast
member if my life depended on it.
It might be interesting to see what similarities might exist between ALE
members in offline screen watching.
In a typical month around here, *IF* the TV gets turned on (we can go
days and days w/o it), it's usually just for short periods of time.
Normally, it's tuned to one of these (listed in order from most to
least, except the last 2):
DCSCI - Discovery Science
DCCIV -Discovery Civilization
DSC - Discovery
DCWIN - Discovery Wings
HIST - some - Used to watch the Hitler, er, History Channel more often,
but
HISTI - isn't quite so fixated on der Furher.
If it's not on one of the above channels, you could usually safely bet
it's on only for the following specific shows:
FoodTV - IronChef -'nuff said ;)
FNC - Fox news - breaking news, sometimes commentary
TWC - Weather - updates
TLC - Junkyard Wars
ComedyCentral - BattleBots
TechTV - ScreenSavers, Tomorrow
BBCAmerica - News, & GroundForce (comes on at bedtime, like it better
than the celeb late night talkies) - sometimes Monty Python, for the
1000th time ;)
ANP - Funniest Animals (we have ferrets and cats, but geek pets is a
different question, <g>)
Even these shows are watched more out of whim than habit.
They canceled "Invader Zim!", or I'd have had to include Nick in that
list.
Very, very rarely, we might turn it to one of the movie channels, but
that normally indicates that our bandwidth has gone down & we're going
through withdrawals.
If you ever see it on ESPN or SportSouth, it means my dad has come up
for a visit. ;)
Typical? Missing anyone's *must watch* favorites?
