[ale] NFS mounts...

Just make sure the DNS and /etc/hosts aren't fouling up your
authentication.  You might have some firewall rules blocking your
portmapper communication.

Can you do:
rpcinfo -p MachineB
from MachineA?
If you don't get a listing of the open RPC ports on MachineB then you
aren't really talking.  The export function doesn't contact the other
machine, but just qualifies that the hostname is in /etc/hosts or DNS. 
Only the rpcinfo or mount requests will show you whether you have
communication.
