[ale] Q: xfig/fig2dev settings

I just installed xfig-3.2.3_beta1-2 and transfig-3.2.1-4 out of the RH6.2
box, but xfig does not seem to pass an acceptable set of options to
fig2dev, specifically a non-existent '-b ...' which crashes fig2dev, so I
can neither print nor export. Could someone who has set this up correctly
please share the setup files/options with me?
