[ale] cross-compile how-to?

Sometimes _reading_ the line I edit helps. I was setting the HOSTCC
variable to the path for the cross-compiler as well as the
CROSS-COMPILER variable to point to the $HOSTCC.</homer>

It wont boot but it at least compiles now:)
