[ale] linux gateway...? simple question?

You also need to set you linux box up for IP Masquerading (aka NAT in
the non-linux world).  Your linux router needs to replace the IP
address of the windows box with its own IP address for out going, and
vice versa for incoming email intended for the windows box.
