[ale] Linux on Pentium 4

Has anyone had any experience with Linux on a Pentium 4, specifically on 
an Intel 850 (rambus- yuck!) motherboard? I'm about to buy some new 
computers for my office, and the choice is between a Pentium III 1GHz 
and a Pentium 4 1.5GHz. I hate to support Rambus in any way, but that 
extra speed might be nice.
