I have recompiled my system with kernel 2.4.2, and 
neither kppp nor the RedHat dialer will work. I have gone through the how-to and 
the faq, editing the appropriate files (/etc/ppp/rc.conf, & etc.)Â but 
none of the instructions seem to work. the kppp log outputs the following 
messages:
