I don't really know, although IDSL or the fact that it has an external
ethernet connection would not necessitate pppoe, I don't believe. I've
got my dsl line connected to a 'modem' that has ethernet connected to my
firewall and I don't use pppoe. It's really dependent on how they are
facilitating it. I could be wrong, although I know for a fact that I'm
not using pppoe.

If in fact they provided you with the winpoet stuff and it is pppoe as
you've indicated, my expectation would be that you would need pppoe on
your end.
