I know what you need to do.

Go to: ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/software/libs/glibc/hjl/sdk/2.1/

download glib2.2.

and do it now:

§	cd /usr/bin
§	mkdir saved
§	mv gcc cc ld saved
§	ln -s /usr/i386-glibc-2.1-linux/bin/i386-glibc21-linux-gcc gcc
§	ln -s gcc cc
§	ln -s /usr/i386-glibc-2.1-linux/bin/i386-glibc21-linux-ld ld
§	cd /usr/lib
§	mkdir saved
§	mv libc.so libdl.so libm.so libpthread.so saved
§	mv libc.a libdl.a libm.a libpthread.a saved

I did it and it´s working nice.

No go on RH 7.1 so far. It just sits when I run ./runInstaller. If I watch
top, it sits at 4% CPU usage so I don't think much is going on. If you get
it working on 7.1 please email me.....

I'm trying to set up Oracle 8.1.7 on a SuSE 7.1 box, and it isn't going
too well, even after reading the FAQ on the SuSE web site. Has anyone
had any success getting this combo to work, or can anyone recommend a
better distro to use with Oracle?

TIA
Josh
