This evening I tried - emphasize tried - to install Debian 2.2 from the CD's.
There were dozens of missing files, and it wouldn't install any 
video driver I asked for, VGA 16, SVGA, whatever. The third 
try claimed to have succeeded, but left me with an unbootable disk. 

I'm sending this using Mandrake 8.0, which loaded without a 
problem.
