Do you have mppe files in your pppd source tree?

Browse the following:
http://www.moretonbay.com/vpn/releases/
and see if you need to pick up the mppe patches.

Check the howto for PopTop also for instruction on how to
add mppe and SSLeay to pppd.

Well, some progress, when I added the above to either the command line
of pptp, or the options file, ppp complains of invalid options.  Well, I
guess I'm missing the support as I suspected.  Still, it appears that
this support is in the kernel module and not in the /usr/bin/pppd
daemon.  Would you agree?
