Oops! My mistake! I thought you have a Linux pptp server, and
you want to tunel back to the corporate network through it.
It looks like that you cannot get authenticated by the VPN server.
There are two authentications in the pptp VPN process. At least
when I am setting up the Linux server as the VPN pptp gateway.
When you first come in, the VPN server will authenticate using its
pptp user database. This is probably tied to the primary domain
controller if you are using an NT VPN server. Then, you will login
into the domain controller. You should receive a popup login screen
from the domain controller, if your windows login is different.
Since you are using a Linux workstation, all of your communications
with the domain controller will be through Samba. The pptp VPN setup
is totally seperated. Check with your NT administrator. They should
be able to look into the logs and tell you what is happening.
