Yes, I am having the same problem.  The connection just stops, period.
I have to hang up and re-dial to do anything. I have contacted
Mindspring/Earthlink about it and they state they can't see any
problems and to call back if it happens again.

Unfortunately I am doing this on a Win box for game requirements so I
don't have any logs to match up with yours.
