[ale] samba failure

I have script which mounts an NT share.  When I run it by hand (login as
myself, su to root, run it) it works.  When I run in it  in a cron job
(root), I get:

session setup failed: ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess
SMB connection failed

I am specifying the username on the command line.

FWIW, it's a Debian Potato install.

Ideas?  Thanks.
