[ale] X blows out in the middle of the night?

I have the same problem. There seems to be a race condition/bug in
xscreensaver 3.32 (which is what you currently get with potato +
apt-get). JWZ use to have a warning about it on his website
(http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/) but it is no longer there. In it's
place there appears to be version 3.33, but I couldn't locate any debs.
I gave up using xscreensaver and went w/ the more manual xlock. I'll
probably give xscreensaver 3.33 a try later tonight to see if it fixes
the race problem it had with pam.
