[ale] Quick DSL hardware Q...

I like Telocity, whoops, I mean DirecTV's setup. The external
Gateway worked very well with Linux. The only issue I had with Telocity was
their DNS servers being down alot. If they have resolved this problem then
I think you will like it. I felt that during peak time(4-10) DSL
outperformed Cable but outside those peak hours cable outperformed DSL. Of
course your mileage may vary. The guy 500 ft from the CO will probably say
I am full of it. These are just my finding after doing a head to head
test(back in February) with Charter Communications and Telocity(about 10,000
feet from CO) using dslreports.com's speed test. The only reason I am still
with Charter is because their Digital Cable package is still a little bit
cheaper. Once they raise the rates, I will probably go with a full DirectTV
line up.

Well... It looks like Telocity/DirecTV DSL has finally updated their
database and I'm eligible now..
Guess what I'm ordering tomorrow to test out Cable vs. DSL?
Thanks again for all the feedback!
Cheers!
