[ale] irc & identd probs

I recently installed SuSE 7.1 < the plug N pray bios OFF did the trick for 
my nic card btw > and I am having trouble with the default install 
connecting to any irc server running ident. I am immediately disconnected 
with an error message that points to an ident help page for mIRC.

I am sure someone has run across this. I have identd turned on according to 
YaST2. Is there a manual config I can use to turn this on or double check 
that it is in fact operating correctly?
