[ale] Site mirroring

I want to create a local directory which is the mirror image of a remote
web site.
It should have all local .html links updated both relatively and
recursively.
I tried 'wget -xkm thesite.com' but the directories are messed up.
Is there another tool I can use or am I using the wrong wget flags?...
I appreciate any help.
