Looks 
like it's theoretically possible w.r.t. front panel real estate for RJ-45 jacks, 
but at that level available devices seem to want to jump to RJ-21 "trunk" 
connectors.  Cisco and Cabletron seem to make 2U 48-port units with 
RJ-21s.  There's a 3U Forerunner with 48 RJ-45s on eBay that's been bid up 
to $203.50.
