[ale] RealAudio on linux; distro reccomendations

Once you get comfortable with the layout of SuSE, it is very easy, high
quality distro.  Everything usually works and the apps are high quality
that were selected.  Install is a snap too.  I would think the Redhat CD
he has should be evaluated for its security level.  In other words, you
probably need to make sure he learns how to update his install to the
latest patch level before you let him put the machine out there as a
public server.  I was a DOS to Win3.1 to Unix/IRIX to Linux over the
past years.  I found that as I learned more about what I could do with
Unix/Linux, my interest grew.  I would encourage him to spend two weeks
reading in high speed learning curve and go for building a home system
as a Real Audio server.  Then he could move the NT box over to Linux
once he knows how without compromising the business productivity.  In
the long run he'll thank you!
