[ale] Q. on debugging 'fetchmail'

'Lo ALErs -

Advice here is bringing my new net setup together, and I
have fetched up on the next rock, naturally.

Now that I load ('insmod') both my drivers in
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network, the net comes up fine.

A bit of work on '~/.pinerc' got outgoing mail working.

I still have one [RIBBIT!]* problem: 'fetchmail' seems
to be finding the (two) pop servers OK, spooling down
the mail, but sending it into space, or at any rate not
into my local mail spool! I have a set of unread
messages from my last working round of 'fetchmail', but
no new ones. Meanwhile checking the ISPs' web-based mail
servers shows that the messages have been deleted at
their end, presumably after 'fetchmail' thought it had
delivered them to my local mail server. All messages
waiting in my spools were apparently blown into space!

How can I debug this?

Also - Eric, thanks for setting me right on
'modules.conf' usage -- I had it backwards and was
trying to use 'above' instead of 'below': I cruised past
'below' in man pages without firing a brain cell, even
though 'above' didn't _sound_ like the answer. I'll try
this next round -- force loading is too cobby even for
me to live with!

TIA.
 - Mills

* Note for the 'maturity challenged' - refers to a R'n'R
song, _Freddy_the_Freaky_Frog_, wherein the lead figure
_almost_ turns into a prince, except for one small
remaining problem. RIBBIT!!
