Make an /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 (for redhat).  This
should be very similar to eth0's configuration, except in another
subnet.  If eth0 is assigned by dhcp, then make eth1 a static ip
address.

Do you want forwarding?
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

To start the interface, ifup eth1, or restart networking for all
interfaces.
