[ale] Configuring 3COM NIC

Hello all,
 
I am trying to get a 3COM PCI NIC to work in my Red Hat 6.1 
Linux box. I had a 3COM ISA NIC, but could not get it to work, so someone 
sggested a PCI, I got the PCI card installed and removed the ISA card. It saw 
the PCI card right away. I go to the control panel to remove the software for 
the old ISA card, and it lets me delete it, but it just comes right back. Plus I 
get an Init failure on boot up for both eth0 and eth1. I changed the settings on 
eth0 to match the IRQ and I/O address of the new NIC, but I still get the 
failure on boot up. And the ISA does not seem to want to be 
deleted.
 
Any ideas?
