[ale] Apache not running .pl files

Are you doing server side includes (SSI)?  Try chaning the HTML extension 
to .SHTML and see if it runs.  If it does, you need to enable parsing of 
SSI's in your conf file.

Since there's no difference, it's probably a change in default settings.
