[ale] Salary for Senior Unix Engineers in Atlanta?

At Boeing (Duluth, Ga., now closed) Unix admins were getting from $50k-$65k to administer a mess of Sun work stations. Most of the work was support for Engineering CAD tools. It was not high end high profile database support and such. It was more a general working environment. When we needed some high powered talent, we rented it by the pound. My experience is that the money is first based upon whether you have a degree in computer science. A close second is what is your hands on professional experience. We had some bright talented people who were maintaining mission critical applications. Unfortunately, no degree, no big bucks. One thing that pulls down the salaries is the perception that NT can replace Unix and that just about any GUI BOY can be had. I know some job shoppers who are making a lot more money ($50-$65/hour) and simply refuse to be employed full time. They would lose money if they were regularly employed.

Darrell,
You might want to check out http://www.salary.com if you are just
looking for ballpark figures... I've look'd at the site a couple times and
it does have a lot of information you might find valuable...
