[ale] Install on Fresh Machine - Opinions?

Jeffrey,
It is my experience that you should install Win 98
first, and the linux second (as the how-tos state).
The reason is that Win 98 overwrites the boot sector
of your hard drive, and this messes with LILO.
I tried doing the reverse and ended up having to use a
boot floppy to load linux. I was able to use linload
temporarily but started to get kernel panics for no
obvious reason.
