[ale] mail delivery problems with qmail

Good Afternoon,
I have just installed qmail and am testing it on one of my servers. I set up a
virtual account and made the nesc mx record changes with the previous mail host
to point to the new server this was five days ago. A few test messages sent by
a employee got through but other did not and recieved this error, "The
following address had permanent fatal errors sysadmin at etranscreate.com"

451 <sysadmin at etranscreate.com>... reply: read error from mail.etranscreate.com.
<sysadmin at etranscreate.com>... Deferred: Connection reset by mail.etranscreate.com.
Message could not be delivered for 5 days
Message will be deleted from queue
Both a ping and an nslookup have the correct ip address of the virtual domain
etranscreate.com
Any suggestions?
