[ale] Ricochet modems

Has anyone gotten one of the Ricochet wireless modems to
work under Linux?  I can get it to ring through but pppd
dies when trying to negotiate the connection. I'm wondering
if I'm using the wrong authentication method.  Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
