[ale] Insolence of those asking for FREE help on public lists

First to all who all who have helped me, MEA CULPA! Your help has been
invaluable. I am definately one of those who have forgotten to give thanx.

Second, this forum is far more socialable than most of cyberspace as I
remembered it. When I went unwired when  the "bbs" still stalked the earth,
the denizens were useally not this nice.

Third, I think that there is some rule of human psychology that dictates
that tinkeres will try it, then ask someone their thoughts on the matter,
then when all else fails read the instructions. We forget that by asking
help it is part of a social ritual. In this case, ritual to seek others with
similar interests.

Just some thoughts,
