[ale] Modem help

Hi all,
    I am buying a new system and would like to buy a  modem. I saw a Lucent
Chipset Actiontech modem that claims that it can support Linux at
Microcenter. However its a PCI modem. Can someone tell me whether this modem
will really work as ppl generally advice me to buy a full hardware ISA modem
to use with Linux. Wouldnt using a PCI modem( provided Linux supports it )
be lot faster than using an ISA one ?
