I hate to disagree, but I've currently got a dual boot Linux/NT box that
uses LILO in the mbr to boot.  I used to use the NT boot loader, but as
you noted, it's a pain in the but.  I had to reinstall everything a
while back, when I got a new drive and went the LILO route to see if it
would pose any problems.  Unfortunately, I don't recall which I
installed first, so this may be the problem.  I think I installed NT
first, because I wasn't worried about blowing it away when I installed
Linux, but I can't recall for sure.
