[ale] mount from a sun problem?

I'm trying to mount my cdrom on my linux box to my Solaris 2.6 box.
All looks good, but when I do:

mount gi-roadrunner:/cdrom /cdrom

from my Sun box it hangs and I get this in my messages on my Linux box:

Jun 16 11:50:42 gi-roadrunner mountd[27597]: export request from 143.199.22.59
Jun 16 11:51:00 gi-roadrunner mountd[27597]: authenticated mount request from gi-dilbert.gwl.com:968
Jun 16 11:51:01 gi-roadrunner kernel: svc: unknown version (3)
Jun 16 11:51:01 gi-roadrunner mountd[27597]: authenticated mount request from gi-dilbert.gwl.com:968

The linux box is RedHat-6.0, Kenrel 2.2.6-ac1. I've verified that
nfsd is running. I know it's something obvious but I'm drawing a blank.
