The video projectors are a _beast_ to get to run right under anything.
That said, the key to the whole thing is to make sure that the resolution
the projector will produce is what you are running for X. This include
both pixel count and color depth. Once that is working, i.e. you actually
have output, play with xvidtune to try and force the X server to shift the
image from the video projector as needed. 

The second key to this is to write down what works! This way, when you do
the presentation, and the #@$# thing won't display right, you have a
written recipe of how to set it up, and you won't have to trust your
frustrated memory in front of a crowd!

(Nope, hasn't happened to me. cough. cough)
