the default /etc/inputrc is funny. there are several lines of funny-looing
reg-exp and try it again. RH is trying to be smart... This fixed mine.
next thing is that, make sure you are actually running bash by typing
'/bin/bash' to start a subshell then do 'set -o vi'.
