Welp, Santa treated me well to a Voodoo3 3000.
However, I'm experiencing a little difficulty getting this thing to work
correctly. Here's what I've done thus far:
o I've rebuilt the entire XFree86-3.3.5.src.rpm into a binary RPM for
my system and installed it;
o I've configured X to use the SVGA server;
o I've rebuilt the Device3Dfx-2.3-3.src.rpm into a binary RPM for my
system and installed it;
o I installed the Glide2x package (also tried the Glide3x package, but not
concurrently, obviously)
When I try and run the glide test (/usr/local/glide/bin/test3Dfx), it says to
"press any key to begin test"; and when I do that it reports this error:
--- snip snip ---
gd error (glide): Can't find or access Banshee/V3 board
gd error (glide): grSstSelect: non-existent SST
zsh: segmentation fault ./test3Dfx
--- snip snip ---
I've tried installing the Glide3x package, both seperately and by --force'ing the
installation of the RPM over the Glide2x, etc. Am I missing a step, here? Should
I be looking for anything else? On linux.3dfx.com, it said that when I run XF86Setup,
I should configure both the 2D resolutions I want X to run at and the 3D screeen
resolutions. I didn't see an option for the 3D aspect. Did I overlook something?
Thanks, and Regards,
Dave Brooks
