Hello ALE,
I have run into a problem with X. I finally was able to upgrade
my X server using the RH6.1 RPM. (For those of you who don't remember,
I've been downloading and installing RH6.1 by RPM. I've got it almost
done successfully). The problems that I had with WindowMaker before are
resolved since I upgraded, but now I can't start X as anyone except root.
I get the following error:
Authentication failed - cannot start X server.
Perhaps you do not have console ownership?
What does this mean and how do I fix it? (grep did not find it in the
HOWTO's or in X's documentation) It worked fine before I upgraded the RPM
from XFree 3.3.2 to 3.3.5. All other X RPMS had already been updated
except XFree86-xfs.
