[ale] Kernel Panic

My favorite way to trouble shoot this one is to take a slackware boot disk
and when
it comes up with LILO: mount root=/dev/hda1 ro (replacing hda1 with the
actual root filesystem).
this should boot your partition assuming that it's simply a poorly installed
LILO header.

Other solution would be to do a total boot/root floppy bootup and mount the
filesystem
and edit it that way. once again assuming it's simply a flogged up LILO. the
VFS root
filesystem not found is typiclly caused by LILO pointing to the wrong
partition for the
boot kernel.
