[ale] No X still?

  I just installed my RH-5.1 machine again from scratch.  I've upgraded
my xfree and I'm now getting this:

access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
/usr/X11R6/bin/fvwm2: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6: undefined symbol: _Xglobal_lock

waiting for X server to shut down

XFree86-libs-3.3.2-11

Anyone have any ideas?  This is driving me nutz.
